made these while at my mom's house in tucson.  she's got a truly excellent collection of beads and i always enjoy raiding it.

both are for sale.

also, i've got another project in the works and you may see bits of it floating about in the 'processes' slideshow at the bottom.  more on that next time.

Valentine's Day

so it's february eh?

buy-some-jewelry-for-your-sweetie time.  :D

in other news, i got a flower press for christmas and some fantastic ideas on modpodging pressed flowers onto glass.  expect some updates to my miscellaneous section soon.  do i even gave a miscellaneous section yet?  well i guess i will soon then lols.

also, i got a business card from these folks recently and must admit i am intrigued by the prospect.  is anybody a member?  is it worth looking them up and going to a monthly gathering?

that's all for now

wild hunter wings.

i know i said i was going to make storm wings next, but i found a pale green pair of stockings in my ingredients box and they ate my brain.

the base is wrapped in leather and ribbon and embellished with some silk flowers i found in a bag in my closet.  the cords around the wing bases are woven waxed leather.

there are also touches of gold paint along the whole pair: the flowers, the leather, the wings themselves; just to tie it all together.

the speckles are in the same metallic gold paint and look rather handsome if i do say so myself.

they can be mounted with backpack style ribbons with little effort, your choice of elastic or static.  i personally prefer static cords, as they hold the wings more firmly; however they can be slightly more difficult to get into and out of.

i'll sell these to the right owner for $30.

wire zomg.

these have been in the works for a while, oh yes they have.  and by in the works i mean sitting on my nightstand waiting for weeks for me to get around to photoing them ahahah.  anyway, here they are.

all three are unique/one of a kind, just like anything else i produce, but i'm always open to attempting a copy of myself haha.

the froglizard (top) is about three inches long from tongue-tip to tail and is for sale @ $10.  the tiny toad (center) is only an inch long and i will sell him for $4.  the satyr in the tree (bottom) is perhaps seven inches tall and can be purchased for $18.

email me, comment me, whatever works.

paint something?

i think to myself at work, i should make a list of all my projects.  and now it occurs to me, i should paint something.  yes.

storm wings still brewing in my head, with the following catalystic colors/shapes:

a painting i did ages and freaking ages ago

but in the meantime i think i want to paint something.  it has occurred to me that i have a perfectly good bodhran case in my closet that needs embellishment.  maybe tomorrow night after work, i'll paint it.

or maybe i'll finally get off my bum and finish the logo for puca.  it's astonishing to me that they put up with me and my infinite delays.  haha, i love you guys.

does anybody know anything about winter gardening? i'm looking for frost-resistant, shade-loving plants for growing in containers.  send me thoughts; also ask to buy things please.

november.

i hung my spoon chime today (finally).  it looks pretty awesome out on my balcony; i'll post pictures at some point.  it's getting windy out at night now so i'm anticipating some groovy spoon serenades in the evenings.

i'm also super excited that my chives and onions are starting to sprout (they're winter vegetables so i plant them now and then they are supposed to explode in the spring).  it's been kinda warm for november the last week or so, which i think has helped.  don't you love growing things? i've been squealing about my babies for days, it's like i just gave birth or something.

i've got a couple new wire sculptures that i'll photo up for my next post.  i had to buy a new roll of wire recently; i ran out of my thin stuff, and home depot didn't have the gauge i wanted anyway, which was frustrating.  i prefer 18 or 20 gauge--a little tougher than the 22 gauge i ended up buying.  22 or 25 gets a bit thin for sculpting, though it's nice for detail work.  i'll make some more little sculptures with it so you can see what i mean.

in the meantime, i'm off to clean the bathroom or something.
